Euro loses ground against the Dollar on banking concerns (Reuters) (22-04-2008)

LONDON, April 22 (Reuters) - The euro fell from a record high against the dollar on Tuesday as concerns emerged about the European banking sector.

Germany's BdB banking association has taken control of Duesseldorfer Hypothekenbank and plans to sell it as the property lender has succumbed to problems related to the financial crisis.

By 0736 GMT the euro was down a quarter percent to $1.5867. It was also down 0.5 percent at 163.48 yen. The dollar was down 0.2 percent against the yen at 103.05 yen.
