Freddie Mac Releases 4^th Quarter Results (Reuters) (28-02-2008)

NEW YORK, Feb 28 (Reuters) -- Mortgage lender Freddie Mac on Thursday released its results for the 4^th quarter; these show that the company’s loss has extended to $2.5 billion in the fourth quarter due to the worsening situation in the housing and credit markets.

Losses in the same period last year were $401 million, while in the third quarter it lost $2 billion.

On a per share level, losses are $3.97, higher than the $3.05 Reuters analysts has been expecting.
