Gold and crude oil on new records as the dollar tumbles (MarketWatch) (03-03-2008)

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The continuing weakness in the U.S. dollar propelled both gold and crude-oil futures surged to new record highs on Monday morning.

Gold for April delivery reached a record of $991 an ounce, while crude oil for April delivery soared to a record of $103.51 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
