FRANKFURT — The euro reached its lowest level against the dollar
since August 2010 on Wednesday, extending a slide tied to worries
over the implications of a potential Greek exit from the shared
currencies and ahead of a meeting of European leaders later in the
day. The single currency traded at $1.2643, down from $1.2688
in North American trade late Tuesday. The currency traded as low as
$1.2613, according to FactSet Research data, its lowest level since
Aug. 25, 2010. The ICE dollar index climbed at 81.789,
