Fourth-quarter growth slower than estimated (MarketWatch) (25-02-2011)

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The Commerce Department released data today showing that the U.S. economy grew at 2.8% pace in the final three months of 2010 — slower than the government initially projected.

Last month, the Commerce Department said gross domestic product climbed at a 3.2% annual rate in the fourth quarter. The revised report takes into account data not initially available in the first reading.

Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had expected revised GDP to remain at 3.2%.
