Inflows of $597 million in US junk bonds in latest week (Reuters) (19-03-2010)

NEW YORK, (Reuters) – According to a report by LipperFMI on Thursday, U.S. junk bond mutual funds reported $597 million of net inflows in the week ended March 17, following a $795 million inflow the previous week.

Junk bonds, which are rated below investment grade and pay higher yields to compensate for their risk, have returned around 4 percent in the year to date, after earning more than 57 percent in 2009, their best-ever performance.
