Europe advances led by German data (MarketWatch)

MADRID — European stock markets traded higher on Friday, following
better-than-expected confidence data out of Germany while banks and
industrials led the momentum. The Stoxx Europe 600 index
gained 0.4% to 242.82, following a 1% gain the prior session, as
bargain hunters moved in to buy battered bank and energy stocks.
The German DAX 30 index rose 0.9% to 6,370.99, led by a 2% gain for
utility E.ON AG. Fellow utility RWE AG rose 1.8%. Industrial
conglomerate Siemens AG rose...
