European stocks gain after as U.S. jobs data (MarketWatch) (03-09-2010)

MADRID (MarketWatch) -- European stocks extended gains in afternoon trading on Friday, rallying in the wake of key U.S. nonfarm payrolls data that were better than economists expected.

Non-farm payrolls declined by 54,000 in August, the Labor Department said Friday. That was below the 105,000 loss expected by economists polled by MarketWatch.
